The Helena Bighorns have successfully moved into first place in the Frontier Division, after two home weekend wins against the Badlands Sabres.
Friday’s game ended with a 4-1 victory for Helena, with goals being scored by Ty Moore (Tyler Bloom), Andrew Deskin (Ty Moore, Thomas Hollon), Tyler Bloom (unassisted), and Braden Cunningham (Camden Cunningham, Dylan Cunningham). Goalie Keaton French saved 22 out of the 23 shots on net.
Saturday’s game was a shutout for French, saving all 15 shots against him, and giving the Helena fans $1.00 the famous Bighorns Burrito at 1889 Coffeehouse. Helena put three goals past the Sabres, scored by Tyler Bloom (Braden Cunningham, Camden Cunningham), Braden Cunningham (Camden Cunningham, Harlan Wojtusik), and Camden Cunningham (Mason Eggen, Tyler Bloom).
Helena will now travel to Gillette to face the Wild in a two games series on February 24th and 25th, fighting to keep that number one spot. Helena’s next and last regular season home game is on Saturday, March 4th against the Butte Cobras.
