It was a busy and packed weekend at the Helena Ice Arena, and it paid off for the Bighorns with both games ending in victories.
Friday night was a face off with the Great Falls Americans and ended with Helena winning 5-1. Helena’s new goalie, Keaton Woolsey started for the first time in net for Helena, saving 28 of the 29 shots against him. Goals for Helena were scored by Cade Holland (Derek Rassell, Tyler Bloom), Andrew Deskin (Zach Turner, Harlan Wojtusik), TJ Norris (Dylan Cunningham, Mason Eggen), Braden Cunningham (Tyler Bloom, Owen Ramsay), and Andrew Deskin (Camden Cunningham, Owen Ramsay).
Saturday night Helena hosted the Butte Cobras, and the Helena Ice Arena had another busy crowd. Woolsey started in net again for Helena and helped solidify another win with 28 out of 29 saves, and a 5-1 game ending. Goals for the Bighorns were scored by Braden Cunningham (Tyler Bloom, Harlan Wojtusik), Braden Cunningham again (Camden Cunningham, Tyler Bloom), Tyler Bloom (Harlan Wojtusik, Braden Cunningham), Darby McCarthy (Owen Ramsay, Andrew Deskin), and a third for Braden Cunningham making it his first hat trick of the season (Camden Cunningham, Harlan Wojtusik).
Helena will hit the road next weekend for a two game series against the Yellowstone Quake. Their next home games will be back to back games against the Great Falls Americans, January 27th and 28th.
