It was another two wins this weekend for Helena, but the battles between each game were not the same,
Friday’s game had Helena with a strong lead against the Sabres, and ended Helena with a 6-0 win, and another shutout for Helena goalie Gabe Swanson. Goals for Helena were scored by Braden Cunningham (Camden Cunningham, Tyler Bloom), Matteo Caputo (Garrett Bogan, Harlan Wojtusik), Owen Ramsay (Tyler Alldredge, Zach Turner), Camden Cunningham (Tyler Bloom, Mason Eggen), Tyler Bloom (Joe Feamster), and Andrew Deskin (TJ Norris, Thomas Hollon).
Saturday’s battle was a bit harder fought, and Helena had a harder time getting pucks into the net. This was the first time this season that Helena was forced into overtime, as the third period left each team with two goals on the board. Helena pulled through for that third goal and ended the game against the Sabres with a 3-2 win. Goals for Helena were scored by Tyler Bloom (Camden Cunningham, Zach Turner), Tyler Alldredge (Mason Eggen, Logan Powers), and Joe Feamster (Tyler Bloom, Camden Cunningham). Helena goalie Jesse Schindel saved 33 out of the 35 shots against him.
Saturday’s game was sponsored by the Holiday Inn Express, the exclusive hotel for the Helena Bighorns.
The Bighorns spend next weekend on the road, heading to Cody, Wyoming for back-to-back games against the Yellowstone Quake.
