It was a win-win weekend all around, both for the Helena Bighorns as well as our military.
The Bighorns came out with an 8-2 victory against Great Falls on Friday night, with goals being scored by Braden Cunningham (Gavin Barr, Dylan Cunningham), another by Braden Cunningham (Dylan Cunningham, Gavin Barr), Owen Gruener (Joe Feamster, Cam Young), Gavin Barr (Dylan Cunningham, Camden Cunningham), Dylan Cunningham (Nick Corbett), Tim Mattingly (Ty Moore, Dylan Cunningham), Cam Young (Dylan Cunnigham, Owen Gruener), and Ty Moore (Dylan Cunningham, Tim Mattingly). Goaltender Malik Johnson stopped 11 of the 13 shots against him on net.
Saturday’s game ended in an 8-1 win for Helena, and Great Falls headed back home with another loss. Goals for Helena were scored by Finn Theriault (Tim Mattingly, Kelton Chadwick), Jakob Losch (Dylan Cunningham, Cam Young), Jack Lambert (Gavin Barr, Nick Corbett), Dylan Cunnigham (Mason Eggen, Bradon Cunnigham), Tim Mattingly (Jack Lambert, Trey Pajera), Owen Ramsay (Owen Gruener, Cam Young), Camden Cunnigham (Dylan Cunnigham, Finn Theriault), and Trey Pajera (Jack Lambert, Owen Ramsay). Goaltender Alex Lamont stopped 20 of the 21 shots against him in net for the Bighorns.
1889 Coffeehouse was Saturday night’s game sponsor, and they were able to raise $800 for the Montana Vet Program, after generously offering to donate $100 to them for every Bighorns goal scored on Saturday night. The Adaptive Performance Center was our Friday night 50/50 non-profit, raising almost $600 for their organization, and Montana Supporting Military was Saturday night’s non-profit organization, raising almost $700. Montana Supporting Military also collected items and cash donations to send packages to currently deployed troops.
