QUOTE FROM BRAD OULDHOUSE
“I’m humbled to announce that SocialFlixx has been selected as this year’s Silver Telly Award winner for Online Documentary Series: Sports. What a fitting tribute for “Beyond the Bench”, validating all the hard work and effort put in by not just myself, but the Bighorns organization. And of course, it would be nothing without all the shares and comments our incredible fans have so graciously done each and every episode. Beyond the Bench has been viewed tens of thousands of times across all social media platforms in just 9 months’ time. That doesn’t happen without a dedicated audience spreading the show around.
My sincerest thank you to Bighorn’s owners Mike Greene and Jed Snyder. They allowed me full creative control throughout the project, but most importantly: they had a vision, and asked me to tell their story. I can’t thank them enough for believing in me to do that.
Beyond the Bench wouldn’t have been what it has become without the voice-over talent from Ryan Corwin. I knew from the very second, I heard his voice, he was meant to be our narrator. I can’t thank him enough for his class, patience and hard work.
A show like this doesn’t come together without having unfettered access to the hockey players and coaches. Thank you to coach Damon Hanson, and to each and every one of the players from last year’s team. Thank you for letting me poke a camera in on some of your most intense and intimate moments throughout the season. I always said that you guys wrote the script, I just held the camera.
Lastly, thank you to my family, who gave encouragement and feedback throughout the season. I sacrificed time with them, and I’m grateful that their sacrifice has been awarded as well.
It is truly an honor that SocialFlixx has been recognized by the Telly Awards. This accomplishment provides me with validation that the content I’ve made is exceptional.
Statement from the Helena Bighorns:
“Congratulations to SocialFlixx and Brad Ouldhouse for this amazing nomination, and award.
Brad captured the true essence of what we as owners envisioned of what we want the Helena Bighorns to look like as an organization. Which is an organization for the players, and about the players. We couldn’t be happier and prouder to be able to be a part of such an amazing documentary, and have a great production company as part of the Bighorn family.”
